Seated to Reign
Seated to Reign
To the extent which I believe the Word of God, it affects my life and my circumstances... Thankfully, that "extent" increases daily, as I build up my faith by praying in the spirit (Jude 20-21).
Some of His promises have come to pass in my life, and those are easier for me to believe, because I've experienced them. I've been healed before. Not usually the "miraculous, remarkable" healings, but the slower, day by day healings. No less miraculous, though, if you defeat the diagnosis, right?
I wondered: How is it that anyone is able to receive healing? How is it that we can feel a pain or see a problem and simply rise above it?
God's answer in His word is: Because we are meant to.
We are meant to rule. We are meant to reign. We have been called "kings", "priests" and "a kingdom of priests" (Ex. 19:6, Rev. 1:6, Rev. 5:10). It is possible only by the blood of Jesus, the New Covenant. All we have to do is believe the Word of God. It's all right there in front of us, if we will only dare to reach out and take it.
God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him...
Ephesians 2:6 NIV
And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus...
This is a place above all that seeks to harm us, all the spiritual enemies who accuse us, all the sickness, all the poverty, all the curses which Jesus nailed to the cross.
If we are seated ("seek to enter His rest" - Hebrews 4:11), we are no longer laboring, but we are ruling with Christ. We are now in authority over all that comes against us. We can now "believe and speak" (2 Cor. 4:13) and it will done, because a king rules by his words":
Eccl. 8:4 NKJV
Where the word of a king is, there is power;
And who may say to him, “What are you doing?”
Colossians 3:1
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
Raised with Christ! His victory has become OUR victory! We win, because "He always causes us to triumph" ( 1 Cor. 15:57, 2 Cor. 2:14). We no longer look at what comes against us because we have the ability to command, to rule, with Christ.
When I asked how affliction had gotten a foothold, God showed me clearly that fear was the crack in the wall which had allowed Satan to gain entrance in my life and circumstances. But "perfect love casts out fear" (1 John 4:18). One scripture I quote more than all others is "I have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind." (2 Tim. 1:7)
Not a spirit of fear, for fear is a spirit;
But a spirit of power: God's Holy Spirit operating in us. Doing His will through us because we have taken our place beside Him in the heavenly realms.
We have power to overcome the curse that attempts to come against us.
The curses (listed in Deut. 28) have been defeated (Gal. 3:13) by Christ and can no longer affect us, unless we allow them to.
Mistakes may happen, and we may allow the enemy to gain a foothold in our lives or our circumstances, but as soon as we realize he's there, we have been given the awesome Power to cast him out, to bind him and his work in our lives.
Jesus told us to cast out demons, to heal the sick, to raise the dead. It can be done, and it must be done, if the kingdom is to advance in these last days.
Revelation 20:4
I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge.
Seated on a throne is representative of authority given AND received. It is now our place, as believers... if we can believe. We will operate in the power of Christ through us, to the extent that we believe and act on the promises of God.
2 Corinthians 1:20
For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God.
"The Promises are always 'Yes' in Christ". AMEN.
