What does the Bible say?

Luke 10:18-19 ESV


And he said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.  Behold, I have
given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of 
the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.
 
Isaiah 30:15 HCSB

For the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, has said: "You will be delivered by 
returning and resting; your strength will lie in quiet confidence.
The result of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quiet 
confidence forever.  

 

Have you ever wondered if you're praying "against God" when you ask for healing? What does it mean to have "authority" -- isn't God in authority?  How can we help it if we're afraid -- is there anything we can do, to "fear not"?  What is it like in God's "kingdom"?  What I say doesn't really affect my life or my circumstances, does it?  What does it mean to be "filled with the Spirit"?  What does the Bible say about "praying in tongues", or praying "in the spirit"?
