"Jesus answered, “I assure you: Unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God... you must be born again.” - John 3:5-7

“For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” - John 3:16

"... then whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” - Acts 2:21

“But this man, after offering one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God.” - Hebrews 10:12

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” - Romans 6:23 “Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last, and the Living One. I was dead, but look! I am alive forever and ever... - Revelation 1:17b-18a

Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God? Do you believe that He was born as a man, lived a perfect life before God and died in our place for our sins? Do you believe that God raised Jesus from the dead and He is alive now and sent His Holy Spirit to be with us forever.

Prayer:

Father in heaven, I believe that Jesus died for my sins and I want to be born again and receive Your precious gift of eternal life. Jesus, please forgive me of my sins and come into my heart. I receive You right now as my Lord and Savior and receive God as my Father. Thank you, in Jesus’ name!

Welcome to God’s family!

Now that your human spirit has been born again in Christ Jesus, freed from bondage to sin and oppression, you are now able to receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Who is the Holy Spirit?

He is the Spirit of God and Jesus (1 Thes. 4:8, John 14:18, Gal. 4:6).

He is our Counselor (John 14:15, 14:25) who teaches us and guides us (John 16:13).

He is the Spirit of Truth (John 14:17, 15:26).

He is our Comforter (John 14:16, 14:26, 15:26, 16:7).

He is a gift from God (Acts 2:38, Acts 8:20, Romans 5:5, 1 Thessalonians 4:8, Luke 11:13, Acts 11:17, Acts 15:8, Galatians 3:2).

What does He do?

He empowers the Christian to live a joyful, peaceful life of victory in the kingdom of God, even during trials and times of hardship. (Mark 9:1, Luke 10:18-19, Luke 22:29-30, Luke 24:49, Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 4:20)

He comforts us, teaches us, guides us in truth, and declares to us all that Jesus has given us.

“I have spoken these things to you while I remain with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit - "the Father will send Him in My name - will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have told you.” - John 14:26-27

“When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth... He will also declare to you what is to come. He will glorify Me, because He will take from what is Mine and declare it to you. Everything the Father has is Mine. This is why I told you that He takes from what is Mine and will declare it to you.” - John 16:13-15

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. I will place My spirit within you and cause you to follow My statutes and carefully observe My ordinances. Then you will live in the land that I gave your fathers; you will be My people, and I will be your God.” - Ezekiel 36:26-28

“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever. He is the Spirit of truth. The world is unable to receive Him because it doesn’t see Him or know Him. But you do know Him, because He remains with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you.” - John 14:15-18

“Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God will come, He answered them, ‘The kingdom of God is not coming with something observable; no one will say, “Look, there!” or “There!” For you see, the kingdom of God is among you. - Luke 17:20-21

"... for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.” - Romans 14:17

“If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?” - Luke 11:13

How will you know that you have received the baptism in the Holy Spirit?

The promised gift from the Father, the Holy Spirit, was first given to the church on the day of Pentecost, to the disciples who had obeyed Jesus’ words to wait for power from God to come to them. When the Spirit came, they heard a great sound like wind and saw lightning (or flames) come and rest on each of them. At the same time they received the Holy Spirit they began to speak and praise God in other languages!

Amazed at hearing the praises of God and glorifying of Him by the disciples, people came from all around, saying, “Look, aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans? How is it that we hear, each of us, in our own native language? Parthians, Medes, Elamites; those who live in Mesopotamia, in Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phyrgia and Pamphlia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabs -- we hear them speaking in our own languages the magnificent acts of God.” Acts 2:7-11

And it is the same today (for God is the same) with everyone who receives the baptism in the Holy Spirit. This gift of praying in the Spirit - the prayer language of God - builds up the believer (1 Cor. 14:4) and increases faith by hearing and receiving God’s perfect will. It is also possible to prophesy in other languages, as the Spirit enables us to receive the gifts of the Spirit. And as we pray God’s words without interference of our own minds and thoughts, our faith increases.

“Faith comes by what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ.” - Romans 10:17

“But you, dear friends, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, expecting the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life." - Jude 20-21 “The wind blows where it pleases, and you hear its sound, but you don’t know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” - John 3:8

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, You have said in Your Word that You are faithful to give the Holy Spirit to those who ask (Luke 11:13). So I ask You, in Jesus’ name, to please fill me with the Holy Spirit. I receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit right now, and thank You Jesus, for Your work on the cross for me.

Now, speak out (or sing) with sounds that are new to you, allowing the Holy Spirit to give you His words. He won’t make you speak against your will. You will still have to open your mouth and make sounds. But instead of hearing words in the language you usually speak, you will hear yourself speak in the beautiful prayer language of the Holy Spirit, praying for you - a perfect prayer! (Acts 2:4, 8-11; 10:46; Romans 8:26-27)

If the sounds come haltingly at first, relax and allow the Spirit to pray through you. He will praise God through your lips, but only as you allow Him and yield yourself to Him. God will never force you to do anything.

“With every prayer and request, pray at all times in the Spirit, and stay alert in this, with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints.” - Ephesians 6:18

As a Spirit-filled Christian, you are now able to follow Jesus’ example and bear good fruit for others, loving others as He first loved you. The fruit of the Spirit is love, peace, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control (Gal. 5:22-23; Rom. 14:17; Eph. 5:9; 2 Tim. 1:7; John 7:38-39). You now have the Spirit of Jesus on the inside of you, teaching you, guiding you, and building up your faith as you yield yourself to Him.

You are able to be a good witness to others of Jesus, empowered by the Holy Spirit to walk by faith, and not by sight!

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” - Acts 1:8
